Last.fm similar artists ubiquity command
I’ve been playing with Ubiquity for a week or so now and think it’s the most interesting and potentially useful plugin I have come accross for a while. Perhaps second only to firebug. Anyway, it’s simply amazing.
I decided to write a command to find similar artists on last.fm without leaving the page you’re in. It could be so much better and I may well do some more work on...

We owe a great debt to many open source projects, and we’re committed to continuing on their path. We’ve used components from Apple’s WebKit and Mozilla’s Firefox, among others - and in that spirit, we are making all of our code open source as well. We hope to collaborate with the entire community to help drive the web forward.

nice idea for a 2.ocial networking site
Ladies and gentlemen, hobos and tramps, Bug-eyed mosquitoes and bowlegged ants! I’m about to tell you a story I’ve never heard before, So pull up a chair and sit on the floor. Admission is free, so pay at the door. One fine day, in the middle of the night, two, dead boys got up to fight. Back to back, they faced each other, drew their swords and shot each other. A deaf policeman heard...

pimp'd tumblr
oh well… perhaps a waste of a few hours. perhaps worth it to get to learn how tumblr is all bolted together and of course to keep a consistency with the front room wallpaper theme =] off to bed now, big day tomorrow….
editing tumblr themes
has to be one of the most annoying interfaces ever. the preview doesn’t work in opera. it takes ages to load. doesn’t preview any custom css. and takes you back to the dashboard when you save. sorry but it’s well budget! =[

Changing Identities
I wonder if in 10 years time people will be trying to lose their identities because of the way all the information gathered about them is being used. The video below and today’s article in the paper has reinforced my tin foil hat syndrome.postCount('tinfoil'); | postCount('tinfoil');

Stéphanie: Isn't life already in 3-D?
Stephane: Yeah but, come on.

quite an interesting social searching idea and brave considering the ubiquitousness of the other search engine…what’s it called again?
initial tumblr thoughts
well i’ve tried all of the different ways to post that are on the dashboard now. got to say it all looks a bit bleurgh with the default style. got some kerazy font sizes going on… i suppose the idea of it is that it’s like a scrapbook. all easy to use tho. pretty cool. i’m quite into the idea of having a place to jot down random shit (see what i did there? swear...
Vincent: And you know what they call a... a... a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in Paris?
Jules: They don't call it a Quarter Pounder with cheese?
Vincent: No man, they got the metric system. They wouldn't know what the fuck a Quarter Pounder is.
Jules: Then what do they call it?
Vincent: They call it a Royale with cheese.
Jules: A Royale with cheese. What do they call a Big Mac?
Vincent: Well, a Big Mac's a Big Mac, but they call it le Big-Mac.
Jules: Le Big-Mac. Ha ha ha ha. What do they call a Whopper?
Vincent: I dunno, I didn't go into Burger King.

secure miniblogs
so i’ve just got this miniblog, a slightly more involved one than my recently aquired microblog and i can’t believe that these two big name sites in the 2.0 game both use http logins. c’mon… SSL people! It’s cheap as chips these days. There’s no excuse to compromise the secirity of your users logins....
I cannot wait for this man’s album to drop. Probably the thing I’m most looking forward to in 2008!
